#getsetsewmarch - Spring
Picture

We've had some beautiful, if somewhat chilly, days recently here in the UK, and it's so lovely to see gorgeous daffodils and primroses starting to appear.  And some of you may even have even been lucky enough to have been able to see the amazing Aurora Borealis, it has been so active recently that it was even visible in Cornwall!!  With sunshine and colour appearing all around us we decided to take this as inspiration for this month's #getsetsew challenge.

So this month we have decided that #getsetsewmarch should be  all about Spring💐🐣🐇🐑

With no set pattern, fabric or yarn for this challenge the choice of make is entirely yours, as long as it has a link to springtime.  Think the changing season, spring colours, springtime themed fabric, or even a make for Easter.  Ok Easter is technically in April but you could get ahead of the game!

For some inspiration we have put together a few ideas that may get you thinking. about what to make.  We will also be adding a resource file into our Stitch Sewcial Facebook group so please add any other ideas you have into this too 😃
  • We had to start our inspiration with the aptly named Spring dress by Nina Lee, a tiered dress with three quarter length sleeve with an optional flounce cuff.
  • A lightweight jacket is the perfect seasonal transition piece, and the Megan Nielsen Hoeva Jacket is very popular right now.  It is a loose-fit drop shoulder jacket or coat. and can be made lined, unlined, or in a quilted option
  • Another great jacket choice would be the Helen's Closet Moss Jacket. With may different design options this is the ideal jacket for layering.
  • Also a new pattern from Helen's Closet is the Wildwood Jacket and Vest, a unisex quilted jacket or gilet pattern.  A great cosy option
  • Or why not make some springtime or Easter bunting?  You could even add your own themed applique.  Annie's Start to Stitch free bunting tutorial is perfect for this.
  • The Spring theme is a great #getsetsew challenge for quilters too.  How about this gorgeous Hobbycraft bunny quilt idea.
  • Spring is a great time to brighten up the soft furnishings in our homes and this cushion cover with applique spring flowers would absolutely bring the outdoors inside
  • We couldn't resist including these two cute soft toy patterns, a lovely lamb and a happy bunny both from gathered.how
  • If crochet is more your thing then this lovely  Iron Lamb Macrame Cardigan pattern is ideal for spring.  Or if you prefer to knit then how about this free Love Crafts Cuddly Bunny Mini Blanket
  • And finally if you fancy doing a bit of embroidery then why not brighten up your converse or canvas trainers with a bit of embroidery?  Gathered.how have a lovely springtime design just for this.

Sew it's time to #getsetsew.   We can't wait to see what you will  make for this challenge.  Don't forget to use the hashtag #getsetsewmarch when you post pictures of your makes in the Stitch Sewcial Facebook group.  And most importantly don't forget to post the pics in the #getsetsew March album to be in with a chance of winning a small prize.  If you're on Instagram then please tag us in your posts @starttostitch we love seeing them 📷😊
