LEARN TO SEW: BEGINNERS

Learn all your machine basics, how to thread, sew, troubleshoot tension, adjust stitch length / width. You will make 5 completed projects over the course and it will set you up for solo sewing! Work on your own machine so you can really get to know it, or borrow one of ours.
For complete beginners, people who have sewed before but don’t feel confident doing so, people who own a sewing machine but gave up when trying to thread it and haven’t looked at it since…
LEARN TO SEW: INTERMEDIATE
Saturday 4 July 9:30 - 17:30 & Sunday 5 July 9:30 - 17:30
Ruffles, piping, zips, buttons and much more all demystified. A great all around skills builder and an excellent introduction to sewing garments. By the end of this course you will be confident to tackle a range of techniques and progress to further classes or more ambitious independent sewing.
For people who have completed the beginners course, or who can confidently stitch a straight line or a curve but don’t feel confident enough to tackle more than the simplest projects.
COURSE 1: Sat 7th Mar 9:30 - 17:00 & Sun 8th Mar 13:30 - 18:30
COURSE 2: Sat 24th Oct 9:30 - 17:00 & Sun 25th Oct 13:30 - 18:30
Learn about how to laying your pattern, preparation of pattern pieces, reading and adjusting your pattern, symbols, and assembly techniques and will go away with at least one finished garment.
We will provide the pattern/s but you will need to supply your chosen fabrics and notions - instructions will be given prior to course starting including recommended suppliers.
For intermediate sewists who want to develop their confidence to make their own garments.
